Introducing our new team member
We’re happy to confirm that Scarlet will be joining our team from April 2016. Scarlet will be joining us from Train Fitness where she has been personal training for the last year.
Scarlet has a background in classical ballet but since leaving the stage has concentrated on appearing on “stage” in a different way through competing in figure and fitness competitions. With such a wide variety of expertise she is guaranteed to get you whipped into shape in no time.
Q: How did you get into fitness?
A: I started classical ballet at the age of 4 so prancing around and keeping fit has forever been a part of my life! This continued throughout my childhood and young adult life but due to injury and feeling so body conscious I left that world behind and I began going to the gym and lifting. It was combining my training with a good diet that the positive changes began to occur and I absolutely loved the sense of achievement and dedication that comes along with it which is why I turned my attention to helping others do just that and feel that. There is nothing more satisfying then a watching a client not only achieve their physical goals but emotionally fall in love with themselves and watch their confidence soar!
Q: Suppose you were on death row, what would you request for your last meal?
A: Being a self-confessed chocoholic, it would have to be just that however, a large bowl of Zoats (Protein powder, Zucchini & Oats) would have to be the final thing to touch my taste buds. Obviously with all the toppings: peanut butter, crushed oreos, white chocolate, Reece’s peanut butter cups, coconut … EVERYTHING!
Q: What’s your favourite exercise?
A: Such a hard question .. Favourite isolation exercise – lateral raises (shoulders) particularly high volume. This really gets you working the bulb of the deltoid and the burn is great! Ideal for building the delts for a more aesthetic look.
Compound – Deadlift. This exercise is most definitely one of the best ones out there! It targets the posterior chain (glutes, hamstrings, adductors and lumbar erectors), it greatly improves posture, targets the CV system, superb for hitting the core and just works every major muscle in the body!
Q: Which type of clients have you worked with?
A: Previous experience has allowed me to work with a variety of clients which allowed me to learn as much as I could about working with different ages, genders, physical capabilities however being very much into resistance training and competing in figure and fitness competitions, I have worked a lot with men and women who’s goals are fat loss, muscular hypertrophy and strength gain.
Q: Favourite alcoholic drink?
A: I am not much of a drinker. I rarely drink alcohol purely because I don’t love the taste. If I do go out and have the occasional tipple, it would have to be prosecco/ champagne. I don’t tend to care so much that I don’t particularly love to drink as 1. Its saves me consuming unnecessary kcals and 2. I quite enjoy having a great day/night without the dreaded hangover in the morning!
