Fight back against the cold weather with our healthy and muscle building Chilli con Carne recipe. Chilli is the perfect fuel for the cold months and can help to prevent the common cold. Not only that, this recipe is perfect for lean muscle gain as each portion contains a whopping 35 grams of protein.

Our advice would be to cook a large batch of Chilli on a Sunday night ready for lunches the following week. Studies show that people who prepare and take their food to work are far more likely to reach their body composition goals. Pair with 30g of brown rice for the perfect post workout meal that will not just build lean muscle but also help keep you warm and free from illness.

Chilli Con Carne
Serves: 4

Method
Pre- heat your oven to 180°C. Heat the oil in a large saucepan and fry the onions, carrots and celery with the garlic for 2-3 minutes.
Now throw in the spices and mince, then stir for 2-3 minutes. Tip in the tomatoes, beans, artichokes and kale with 250ml of stock. Bring to the boil, put the lid on, place in the oven. Cooking done. Busy yourself for 30 minutes with a home HIIT workout.
Give it a quick stir and add half a pint of hot water if it begins to look a little dry. Allow it to reduce for half an hour, then your week of detoxifying feasts is ready.

1 tbsp olive oil
2 onions
2 carrots
2 celery sticks
2 garlic cloves
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
500 g beef mince
2 tins tomatoes
2 tins kidney beans
1 tin artichoke
3 handfuls kale
